my Mums Aunt Really But I always Showed Them Respect And Called Them My Uncle & Aunt. God Bless Em,

And I will tell you wot over the years venom as been
aimed at these pearlies by other groups well with my hand on my heart you could not wish a nicer lot of people I was welcomed
by pearlies young and old .
So I would like to thank the association for making
me sit up and listen and making me take my blinkers off, My thanks to these cockney royals for making my day.

A GOOD old cockney knees-up has kicked of the ‘crowning’ of a new Pearly Queen in London’s
East End—and she’s only 11. Little Jodie-Lee Borer was crowned outside a traditional East End pub at Bethnal
Green with the title ‘Pearly Queen of Dalston’ just three days before the real Queen toured the area with Prince
Philip. Friends and family were packed into Whitechapel’s Carpenter’s Arms—but had to come out into the
street to watch. Jodie-Lee was too young, of course, to go into a boozer where these crowing c0ckney occasions usually
take place. PROUD TRADITION She comes from a proud cockney family dynasty. Her mum, Lorraine Wells, is Pearly
Queen of Tower Hamlets. Her great-grandfather George Hitchen travelled the world for charity as Pearly King of the City of
London. Now the costermonger family ‘dynasty’ has spread north into neighbouring Dalston. “I was choked,”
her mum admitted when she saw her little daughter crowned. “I was very proud of her.” A procession of Pearly
families in their traditional costumes with thousands of mother-of-pearl buttons sewn on led the new Pearlie queen to a stage
where she was crowned and blessed by The Rev Alan Green, vicar at St John-on-Bethnal Green, the cockneys’ own church.

Chelsea bingo club opening night 1970
you can see in the photo a young Pearly prince that was me aged 14, mum and
dad the Genuine and Original Pearly King and Queen o Camberwell enjoying a bowl of jeelied eels,
i can remember this night as if it was yesterday
the bingo club was on the corner of North end road and Fulham broadway tucked
back a bit.
It was packed that night
Lots T.V stars and special guest's
Tommy Trinder and Ann Ashton the girl from the golden shot was the main celebs,and
more London Pearly Kings and Queens, i still have the newspaper clippings one day i will scan them in to this website,
it was just before the F.A cup final in 1970 Chelsea f.c my team was playing
Leeds United, i asked Mr Trinder
who at the time was Fulhams Director, got any spare tickets for the final guvnor
sweet F.A was the reply, if you dont ask you dont get was my reply.

never affraid to stand up for what he thinks is right
and over the years as fell out with a lot of pearly familes
through the lies, two facedness,and pure bullshit that have came from some of them
to hear claims that certain pearlies have been in butttons
for 50 years and have strong family ties with pearlies makes me laugh.
for i know damm well that the made themselfs up with a pearly
title in the mid 70's and to the johnny come latley pearlies with the claims of such pearly history that go way back,yet never
doned a suit till their later years, to see i they can make a few bob
being a true pearly is from the heart not a pension trust for
your old age, so cut the lies out your not fooling no one but yourselfs.
i have made this statment through fears that our cockney culture
is under threat from the stories told
to the ill informed and will believe anything they
are told about London's proud cockney Pearly Kings and Queens is it a case of true lies. One never knows
i have come under attack about my families pearly history through
forums on the internet with the claims of dont be fooled by pearlykingjim he is not a real pearly, and to be fair to them
the did get back to me to say sorry and the posting was made by an unknown,atleast they had the front to call me and not stab
me in the back like some pearlies i know.
dont get me wrong there are a lot of pearlies who do a good
job from the heart know what i mean,
and still have the pride inside that was installed from their
forefathers. i take my hat of to them and God blees ya . but to the others My hat stays on
